Zollernbahn Railway Society

The railway enthusiasts Zoller train eV ( EFZ ) is an association for the preservation of historic train (especially steam locomotives) in good working condition as possible. The club organizes day and commute, mainly in Baden- Württemberg. Club location is Rottweil. Operating company of EFZ is the NESA railway operating company Neckar -Schwarzwald -Alb mbH.

History

The club was founded in 1973 in Balingen of some railway friends who mostly knew each other and now aspired to a closer union. Lectures and speakers dealt with railroad history and operation. The club was named after the railway Zoller, at the founding place of Balingen is.

On April 6, 1973, the EFZ organized the first trip with a rented by the German Federal Railroad locomotive of the Prussian P 8 (Series 38 ) together with the car.

On December 31, 1974, gave the farewell voyage of the last steam locomotive Prussian series of the Federal Railways, the Prussian T 18 (Series 78.0-5 ) and 38 (P8 ). The evening news reported on the event. 1975 came the first own car, a company car converted to Eilzugwagen, and the first Vereinslok, 64 289, to the EFZ.

Since 1993, the EFZ locomotives are allowed to drive again on Federal Railroad tracks. Since then, there are rides throughout the southwest of Germany and beyond. Sensational were some international and long distance trips with steam engines, so 1993 and 1995 to Vienna, 1995 Austria, Italy and Slovenia by Laibach ( Slow Ljubljana ), 1996 to Dresden and then to Berlin, 2007 and 2012 to Nordhausen and also 2012 after Luzna u Rakovnika in the Czech Republic. The location of the EFZ was moved to Rottweil in early 2007 from Bw Tübingen.

Rolling stock

As of March 2008 the following locomotives are among the EFZ:

  • 01,519, off, not operable. It is currently being worked up in Rottweil and is scheduled to end in 2013 again.
  • 50,245, off, not operable. This was added in July 2011 as a memorial locomotive in Triberg (Black Forest).
  • 52 7596, since December 3, 2010 again operational.
  • 64 289, parked in the South German Railway Museum Heilbronn; will soon come back to Rottweil.
  • 796 625 ( " Uerdinger rail bus " ), located in Rottweil.

The rail bus is used by the community of interests 796 625 eV. It was founded in 2004 by some CFC members to obtain the 796 625 and marketable.

In addition, include numerous cars to EFZ, especially biaxial platform cars ex. ÖBB and rapid and express train passenger cars of the 1930s and 1940s. They are all not shut operational. Journal Zoller path echo

The EFZ gave out at the beginning of the magazine Zoller path echo. It contained articles on railroad history and operation as well as news about vehicle Umstationerungen. For four years, the magazine was an interesting source of information on membership beyond. In addition, the EFZ published special issues of the magazine. The first special number 038 382 - 038711-038772 was created in transfer printing and sold at the first special train for 50 pennies.
