Zózimo

Zozimo Alves Calazães, better known as zozimo ( born June 19, 1932 in Salvador da Bahia, † July 17, 1977 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian football player, who participated with the national team of his native country at two FIFA World Cups and also twice world Champion.

Career

Club career

Zozimo Alves Calazães, born on June 19, 1932 in Salvador da Bahia, the third largest city in Brazil, began his footballing career with São Cristóvão de Futebol e Regatas in Rio de Janeiro. After three years through the youth departments of the club, he was engaged by Bangu AC. The now playing at amateur level association had at the time of the top addresses in the Brazilian football. But zozimo played in Rio de Janeiro, where Bangu AC was established, among other things, along with Zizinho, Ademir da Guia and Luís Morais, a major title as the Brazilian Championship or the Cup he could not win with this club. Zozimo left the club in 1965 after fourteen years at the age of 33 years and joined CR Flamengo, a local rival of his old club to. Only a short time later he moved on to Portuguesa of São Paulo. After a year with this club he went to Esportiva de Guaratinguetá to after less than a year to leave the club again and then on to play for Sporting Cristal in Peru's capital Lima, where in 1967 he ended his career. About ten years later zozimo died at the age of 45 in a car accident in Rio de Janeiro.

National

This time, he was a master force in the Brazilian team and was used in five of the six games, among other things, in the final in Santiago de Chile, which Brazil won 3-1 against Czechoslovakia and so managed to defend the title.
