Žuljana

Žuljana [ ʒuʎana ] is a village on the south side of the Peljesac peninsula in Croatia Dubrovnik- Neretva ( Southern Dalmatia ), on the Bay of Žuljana, which is bounded by a breakwater. Administratively Žuljana belongs to the municipality of Ston. Near the village are the places Janjina, Dubrava and Trstenik.

Originally, the village consists of three parts. These were the two no longer inhabited settlements in the forest ( Stara Žuljana Kroat. Žuljana for Old ) and the present village center on the beach. All three settlements were founded in the late 18th century. Later the little popular district was founded inland. The population is approximately 200

The village has a tourist office, a post office, two Catholic churches, two restaurants, two nightclubs, a grocery store and a base for scuba divers.

In the summer season are more than half of the people living there tourists who are housed in private accommodation or camping facilities.
