Zurab Menteshashvili

Zurab Menteshashvili (Georgian ზურაბ მენთეშაშვილი, English transcription: Zurab Menteshashvili; born January 30, 1980 in Rustavi ) is a Georgian football player. He plays since 2009 with Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Ligat ha Al, the highest Israeli league.

Career

Menteshashvili began his career at Olimpi Rustavi. In his first professional season, he finished tenth with the club in 1996/97. The following year, the eleventh place could be achieved. In 1998 he moved to WIT Georgia Tbilisi. After only half a year he left Tbilisi.

Menteshashvili Then moved abroad in January 1999 and signed for FC Skonto in Latvia. In the first year you could celebrate the championship, in the cup final one failed even at FK Riga. This success was in 2000, 2001 and 2002 are repeated, were added nor the cup wins in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

After this great success, he moved in January 2003 to Russia Alania Vladikavkaz.

After only 13 games, he returned to Riga and celebrated his fifth championship there. Number Six was followed by 2004. 2005 one was only runner-up.

After another half a year at discount followed by a renewed attempt in Russia. Menteshashvili signed with Schinnik Yaroslavl, with which he descended in 2006 through the highest Russian league.

In July, during the 2009 season at FK, he moved to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel. Then he put the club into the round of top 32 of the Europa League.

For the Georgian national Menteshashvili has played 38 times and scored one goal. So far, the midfielder with the national team failed to qualify for any tournament.
