Zürich Tiefenbrunnen railway station

The deep wells Zurich train station is located on the 1894 by the Swiss Northeastern Railway opened right bank Zürichseebahn in the Seefeld quarter of the city of Zurich.

During the construction period was called this station yet Riesbachstrasse, in connection with the first expansion of the city in 1893 was renamed Zurich Deep Well Station.

Station building

When built from 1892 station building is normalized NOB station building of Class 3 Built in 1892, also from wooden goods shed corresponded to one of the NOB - classification type 1 The goods shed was canceled. The responsible for both buildings architect was Gustav Wülfke.

The station building at Bellerivestrasse 251 is available as a municipal building worth protecting conservation area ( the Facility C ).

Traffic

Since the introduction of the S-Bahn Zurich, Zurich deep wells station is serviced exclusively by S-Bahn trains.

  • S 6 (Baden AG - ) Otelfingen - Rain Village - Zurich HB - Uetikon
  • S 16 ( Thayngen - Winterthur HB - ) Zurich Airport - Zurich HB - Herrliberg field miles ( - Miles)

Both lines serve the station basically all day every day every half hour ( with varying endpoints ), the S 6 in the evening from about 20:00 clock ends in deep wells. The S 7 speeds runs between Stadelhofen and miles, which means it does not stop at this station.

The station is still open for freight. It is used mainly as a transit point for cement.
