The Seebahn in 1897 with the breakthrough of the Gotthard Railway Zimmerberg feeder, on this occasion Wollishofen received his second station building which still stands there. However, the building was not new, but the first one was built in 1863-1864 train station by architect Jakob Friedrich Wanner. Through the construction of the Gotthard railway train station and got a new wedge NOB moved the original building after Wollishofen.

The increasing volume of traffic forced the early 20th century, the SBB to relocate the Seebahn in the area of Zurich city. The Seebahn was moved and electrified between the run-up to the main railway station and Wollishofen in deep level. While Wiedikon and narrowness received new stations, only the track system has been adapted in Wollishofen. The dual Seebahn reaches of tightness forth the Wollishofen station through the new narrow tunnel (903 m ) and a generous worn incision where the old route is reached. South of the station the double track runs unchanged since its opening to Kilchberg.

The Seebahn double track forms the tracks 3 and 4, which have a common 300 -meter long center platform, which was increased to a length of 200 meters on today's standard height of 55 cm. To the west of the track system is the reception building and the last remaining goods shed, this leads to the hardly -used track 1 over which is laid as a road track in the house Perron; the house Perron is track 2 which is no longer used for passenger transport. East of the main line runs track 5, which is configured as drive-through track and finally track 6 which has a relatively new 200 -meter-long side platform where the daytime usually a Reservezug is turned off.

The track system has, despite Repair work is still necessary for freight and shunting maneuvers on track, besides also stabling and service tracks are available. Ensure that the system has survived into the 21st century, is also attributable to the fact in addition to the local industry that the stations Wiedikon and narrowness for freight are no longer usable since the lowering of the Seebahn. However, here the local freight decreases sharply and a first engagement is striking east of the station to observe where a gas station between now and the narrow Seestrasse Perron is on track 6.

Siding

North of the station branches off a siding east of the SBB line and crosses the Mythenquai. This track leads to the Shipyard Lake Zurich Navigation Company as well as for concrete and gravel hub Wollishofen the KIBAG. Another siding leads west to the train station.
