1976 Copa Libertadores

The Copa Libertadores 1976 was the 17th edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 21 teams took part. It took each of the national champions of CONMEBOL countries and the second part, or the winner and finalist of the Cup competition in Bolivia, since there is no national championship has been held. The participants completed titleholder CA Independiente. The tournament began on 25 February and ended on 30 July 1976 with a final playoff. The Brazilian representatives Cruzeiro won the final against CA River Plate and won the Copa Libertadores for the first time.
