1998–99 English Premiership (rugby union)

The 1998/1999 season of the English Premier League was the twelfth season of the top flight of English rugby union championship. For sponsorship reasons it was called Allied Dunbar Premiership. It began on 5 September 1998, consisted of 26 game days (one forward and reverse turn) and lasted until 20 May 1999. Winning the league title for the third time the Leicester Tigers. At the end of the season, West Hartlepool RFC dismounted. The Richmond FC and London Scottish FC had to declare bankruptcy, merged with London Irish and took in the next season no longer participate in the game mode.

The season of second division ( National Division One) comprised 26 game days (one forward and reverse round). The best-placed team Bristol Rugby rose to the Premiership, while the runner Rotherham RUFC a play-off against the Bedford Blues (13th Premiership ) lost. The Blackheath RC and the Fylde RC had to dismount.
