2001–02 English Premiership (rugby union)

The 2001/02 season of the English Premier League was the 15th season of the top flight of English rugby union championship. For sponsorship reasons it was called Zurich Premiership. It began on 3 September 2001, comprised 22 game days (one forward and reverse turn) and lasted until 12 May 2001. Finishers of the regular season, the Leicester Tigers won for the sixth time the championship. Subsequently, the eight best teams wore until June 8, 2002, the Co- Tournament Zurich Championship, but that was no longer used to determine the champion title. There were no losers in this season.

National Division One

The season of second division ( National Division One) comprised 26 game days (one forward and reverse round). The best-placed team Rotherham RUFC was not allowed to rise because the stadium did not meet the requirements. Descent had the Henley RFC and the Bracknell RFC.
