1st unofficial Chess Olympiad

The Chess Olympiad in 1924 was designated as a chess team championship chess tournament, which until July 20, 1924 took place from 12th in Paris, and is one of the two previous tournaments - the other was the Chess Olympiad 1926 in Budapest - official Chess Olympiads.

Prehistory

According to Arpad Foeldeak of the English Chess Federation in London in 1922 was reported by Eugène Snosko - Borowski, that the French Chess Federation in 1924 would like to organize a chess match during the Olympic Games at the Congress.

Host was not officially until 1925, but unofficially on July 20, 1924 at the conclusion of the tournament, Formative World Chess Federation FIDE, but the French Chess Federation. Tournament director was the champion Alexander Alekhine player who was world chess champion later.

Tournament schedule

The players of different nations entered in teams with up to four players against each other in the style of a single tournament, had also why individual players same nation play against each other.
