Association of middle Moselle communes
The Communauté de communes de la Moyenne Moselle is a municipal merger of 14 municipalities north of Epinal in the Vosges in Lorraine.
The Local Government Association has 8,587 inhabitants (1 January 2008) to 167.86 km ², which is / corresponds to a population density of 51 inhabitants km ². Seat of the association is the small town charm.
The territory of the association is in the catchment area of the upper Mosel and its tributaries. In the north, the association area is adjacent to the department of Meurthe- et- Moselle. For municipal association comprises 13 municipalities of the canton of Châtel- sur -Moselle and nine municipalities of the canton of charm. Since the process of formation and consolidation of local government associations is not yet complete, can be expected with the accession of other communities or with mergers of associations.
The community association was founded on 31 December 1999 in order to concentrate the material resources of the very small communities and to coordinate economic development. On 1 January 2012, the Local Government Association, the municipalities lost Badménil -aux- Bois, Bayecourt, Châtel- sur -Moselle, Domèvre -sur- Durbion, Igney Pallegney, Vaxoncourt and Zincourt to the newly aligned Communauté d' agglomà d' Epinal.
To the field of the Association of Local Authorities include the regional planning and the cross-community economic development, in particular the promotion of commercial areas. The Communauté de communes de la Moyenne Moselle has also set a goal to work closely in the field of road rehabilitation, renovation of facades of houses and the environment ( household waste, composting, waste water treatment ).
