Bokak Atoll

Bokak or Taongi ( German outdated: Petrelinsel; Gaspar Rico and Smyth Iceland ) is the northernmost atoll in the Ratak chain and thus the northern land mass of the Marshall Islands. The uninhabited atoll has a land area of 1.25 km ² with a lagoon area of 30.31 km ². The 280 km away Atoll Bikar is Bokak the next.
The main islands, seen from north to south from are:
- North Iceland, Kamwome, Bwdije, Sibylla Iceland, Pokak and Bwokwla.
The atoll was discovered by Alonso de Salazar on August 21 in 1526.
On the island, inter alia, frigate birds and terns are native Australian.
