Bukovany (Olomouc District)

Bukovany ( German Bukowan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers east of Olomouc and is part of the Okres Olomouc.

Geography

Bukovany is located west of the Oder Mountains in the headwaters of the creek Bukovanský creek in the Upper Moravian Valley ( Hornomoravský úval ). To the east the valley of the creek is Lošovský with a storage pond. To the north rises the Svatý kopeček ( Holy Mountain, 412 m) and in the northeast of the V panenském ( 396 m).

Neighboring towns are Samotišky and Holy Hill in the north, and Lošov Hlubočky in the northeast, Marianske Údolí Kovákov and Mrsklesy in the east, Velka Bystřice in the southeast, Bystrovany the southwest, Bělidla, Pavlovičky and Chválkovice in the west and Týneček and Droždín in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Bucouaz was in 1131, when the Olomouc Bishop Henry Zdik the village on the occasion of the dedication of the new St. Wenceslas Church gave to the church in Olomouc. At the beginning of the 13th century was a part of the village to the royal castle Olomouc, the proceeds from which were used upkeep of the royal hunter. As of 1213 the place as Bukowan or Bukouane, 1275 was designated as Bokwan. 1223 was the sovereign share of Bukowan an exemption from the country's taxes. Margrave of Moravia Přemysl donated in 1239 this proportion of Viktorin Bludov. Later the Bishopric of Olomouc also acquired this share. Other forms of the name were Bukovany (from 1518), Bokovany ( 1522) and Bukowanium (from 1691). The inhabitants of the village were obliged to compulsory labor on the farm Chválkovice. The easements of Halbhüfner and Chalupner belonged to the impact of six fathoms of wood in Bělkovicer forest, where the Halbhüfnern was also responsible for the removal of an episcopal see. Moreover, they were ten men liable to make the Dean's Office Velka Bystřice. The parish registers are performed in Velka Bystřice since 1651. The oldest town seal dates from 1694 and showed a willow tree. At the end of the 18th century the village 's annual serving of one and a half buckets stately vie was permitted. In addition, the payment of an annual tax of five and a half guilders dance has survived from this period. Until the mid- 19th century, the village always remained subservient to the Bishopric of Olomouc.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bukovany / Bukowan formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Olomouc. As of 1921, the village belonged to Okres Olomouc- venkov. In 1950 Bukovany to Okres Olomouc- okolí and since its repeal in 1961, the place belongs to Okres Olomouc. In 1976 Bukovany was incorporated into Velka Bystřice. 1990 Bukovany broke off again and formed its own community. Bukovany leads since 1998 a coat of arms and banners.

The town has preserved its original shape as a Slavic Rundling. Any further extensions were made to the northeast, so that the eye of the village core is clearly visible today.
