Chikkodi (Lok Sabha constituency)

The Lok Sabha constituency - Chikkodi (also: Chikodi ) is a constituency in elections to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and covers the northern part of the district of Belgaum around the city Chikkodi.

The last election to the Lok Sabha 1,284,427 residents were eligible to vote.

Constituency history

The constituency Chikkodi existed since the Lok Sabha election - 1957. Predecessor constituency in the first Lok Sabha election - 1951, the constituency Belgaum North. By 1973, the constituency for Mysore State was before it was renamed Karnataka. By 2004, the constituency for candidates from lower castes ( scheduled castes ) was reserved.
