Shimoga (Lok Sabha constituency)

The Lok Sabha constituency - Shimoga is a constituency in elections to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and covers the entire district Shimoga and a smaller area in the north of the district of Udupi.

Constituency history

The constituency consists Shimoga Lok Sabha since the first election in 1951. Initially, he belonged to the State of Mysore, before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973.
