Dave Camp

David Lee " Dave" Camp ( born July 9, 1953 in Midland, Michigan ) is an American politician of the Republican Party. He represents the state of Michigan since 1991 in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Camp David attended high school in his hometown of Midland. Once he had his degree there in 1971, he spent two years of study at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. After his return, he earned his bachelor's degree in 1975 at the College of Albion, and in 1978 his Juris Doctor from the Law Faculty of the University of San Diego.

As a result, Camp worked in the administration of the Midland County; there he also belonged to the Executive Committee of the local Republican Party. For a short time he also worked as an independent lawyer. From 1980 to 1984 he was Deputy Attorney General of Michigan, before he Schuette was employed on the staff of Congressman Bill until 1987. Between 1989 and 1990 he sat in the House of Representatives from Michigan. Schuette was appointed as Minister of Agriculture in 1991 from Michigan, Camp David succeeded him in Congress. There he first represented the 10th Congressional District; after a reorganization of the districts he is the fourth election district representative since 1993. This next Camps hometown Midland includes the cities of Traverse City and Mount Pleasant.

Camp won so far all elections, most recently in 2010 with 66.2 percent of the vote to Democrat Jerry Campbell. In the 108th Congress, he served as Deputy Whip of the Republican majority and belonged to the Committee on Ways and Means on. In this position, he supported a major reforms in welfare policy. Within his party, he tries to play a balancing position between their wings. He is also a member of the moderate Republican Main Street Partnership progressive as the conservative Republican Study Committee, representing in some cases significantly different positions. Since 2011 he is chairman of the joint tax committee of the Congress and the Committee on Ways and Means.
