Kevin Brady

Kevin Patrick Brady ( born April 11, 1955 in Vermillion, South Dakota ) is an American politician of the Republican Party and since 1997 member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Texas.

Life

After attending Central High School in Rapid City Brady worked as an employee of Chambers of Commerce Rapid City, Beaumont and Montgomery County. Later he also studied at the University of South Dakota and received in 1990 a Bachelor of Arts (BA).

His political career began with the election of a member of the Texas House of Representatives (Texas House of Representatives ), where he served as a representative of the Republicans from 1990 to 1996.

He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1996 and is representing by far eight elections since the January 3, 1997 the eighth congressional district of Texas. He currently chairs the Joint Committee of the Congress of Economics ( Congress Joint Economic Committee ).
