George H. Noonan

George Henry Noonan ( born August 20, 1828 in Newark, New Jersey; † 17 August 1907 in San Antonio, Texas ) was an American politician. Between 1895 and 1897 he represented the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

George Noonan attended the public schools of his home. After a subsequent study of law and qualifying as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. In 1852 he moved to Castroville, Texas, where he continues to practice as a lawyer. Between 1862 and 1894 he was a judge in the 18th Judicial District of Texas. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1894 Noonan was in the twelfth electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Thomas M. Paschal on March 4, 1895. Since he Democrat James Luther Slayden was defeated in 1896, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1897. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives George Noonan worked as a lawyer in San Antonio. There he is on August 17, 1907 passed away.
