Greg Laughlin

Gregory H. " Greg" Laughlin ( born January 21, 1942 in Bay City, Texas) is an American politician. Between 1989 and 1997 he represented the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Greg Laughlin attended until 1960, the West Columbia High School and then studied until 1964 at the Texas A & M University. After a subsequent law studies at the University of Texas and his 1967 was admitted as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. Between 1964 and 1967, and again from 1970 to 1988 he was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. In the years 1970 to 1974, he served as deputy prosecutor in Harris County. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. In 1986, he ran unsuccessfully for even the U.S. House of Representatives.

In the congressional elections of 1988, Laughlin was but then in the 14th electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Mac Sweeney on January 3, 1989. After three re- elections, he was able to complete in Congress until January 3rd, 1997 four legislative sessions. In 1995, he joined the Republican Party, which had offered him a seat on the influential Committee on Ways and Means. In 1996, he was not nominated by his new party for re-election.

Since the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Greg Laughlin practiced as a lawyer again. In 2004, he was election observers in the presidential elections in Cameroon, he having regarded as properly.
