Kenny Marchant

Kenny Marchant ( born February 23, 1951 in Bonham, Texas ) is an American politician of the Republican Party.

Marchant was born in 1951 in Bonham in Fannin County. He studied at the South Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1974. 1975-1976 Marchant attended the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. From 1980 he was a member of the City Council of Carrollton and in 1984 was elected mayor of the city. He held until 1987 when he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives until 2004 where he worked as a deputy from 1987 this office. Since January 3, 2005 Marchant represents the 24th Congressional District of the State of Texas House of Representatives of the United States.

Marchant is married and has three sons and a daughter.

He is a committee member of the Financial Services Committee of the House of Representatives.
