Marc Veasey

Marc Veasey (* January 3, 1971 in Fort Worth, Texas) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Marc Veasey attended Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth and then studied until 1995 at the local Texas Wesleyan University. After that, he worked first as a teacher and then as a sports journalist. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. For five years he was on the staff of Congressman Martin Frost. Between 2004 and 2012 he was a member of the Texas House of Representatives.

In the congressional elections of 2012, Veasey was the newly designed 33 electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on January 3, 2013. In the election he reached 73 percent of the vote. On his rival candidate Chuck Bradley of the Republican Party accounted for 25 percent. Veasey is a member of the Armed Services Committee and the Committee on Science, Space and Technology. He also is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
