Henry Cuellar

Henry Roberto Cuellar ( born September 19, 1955 in Laredo, Texas) is an American politician. Since 2005 he represents the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Henry Cuellar attended until 1976, the Laredo Junior College and then studied until 1978 at Georgetown University in Washington DC After a subsequent law studies at the University of Texas and his admission to the bar he began to work in this profession. In addition, Cuellar studied until 1982 at the Texas A & M University. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. Between 1987 and 2001 he sat as MP for the district in Laredo Texas House of Representatives. In 2002, he unsuccessfully sought the nomination of his party for the congressional elections. 2001, he was Secretary of State, the managing officials of the state government of Texas.

In the congressional elections of 2004, Cuellar was elected in 28 electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of Ciro Rodriguez on January 3, 2005, which changed in the 23th district. After the previous three elections, he can exercise his mandate in Congress today. He is a member of the Committee on Agriculture, the Committee on Internal Security, in three sub-committees. In the 2008 presidential campaign, he supported Hillary Clinton.

Henry Cuellar is married and has two daughters. He lives privately in Laredo.
