Bill Sarpalius

William " Bill" Sarpalius ( born January 10, 1948 in Los Angeles, California) is an American politician. Between 1989 and 1995 he represented the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Bill Sarpalius grew up in Houston and on the Cal Farley 's Boys Ranch near Amarillo on. In the years 1967 and 1968 he led the Texas Future Farmers of America Association, a youth organization for farmers. Until 1970 he attended Clarendon College. Then he studied until 1972 at Texas Tech University. Subsequently he was employed from 1972 to 1978 in the administration and as a teacher at the Cal Farley 's Boys Ranch. In addition, he studied until 1978, at West Texas State University. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Democratic Party. From 1981 to 1989 he was a member of the Senate of Texas.

In the congressional elections of 1988 Sarpalius was in the 13th electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Beau Boulter on January 3, 1989. After two re- election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1995, three legislative periods. In 1994, he was defeated by Republican Mac Thornberry. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Sarpalius spent several years working for the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. Today he runs a consulting firm in Washington.
