Quico Canseco

Francisco R. " Quico " Canseco ( born July 30, 1949 in Laredo, Texas) is an American politician. From 2011 to 2013 he represented the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Quico Canseco studied until 1972 at the Saint Louis University in Missouri. After a subsequent law degree from the same university in 1975 and was admitted to his lawyer, he began to work in this profession. He also went into the banking industry. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. In the years 2004 and 2008, he ran unsuccessfully for Congress in each case still.

In the congressional elections of 2010, Canseco but was then elected with 49.3 percent of the vote in the 23rd electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he became the successor of him previously defeated Democrat Ciro Rodriguez on January 3, 2011. There he was a member of the Finance Committee and a subcommittee. Canseco describes himself as a conservative. It supports strict immigration law of the State of Arizona and sympathizes with the Tea Party movement.

In 2012, he defeated his Democratic competitor Pete Gallego. Canseco initially refused to accept the result and imputed after recognition of his defeat election fraud.

Quico Canseco has been married since 1980 and has three children with his wife. He lives privately in San Antonio.
