Choice B. Randell

Choice Boswell Randell (* January 1, 1857 in Spring Place, Murray County, Georgia, † October 19, 1945 in Sherman, Texas ) was an American politician. Between 1901 and 1913 he represented the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Choice Randell attended both public and private schools of his home and the North Georgia Agricultural College, Dahlonega. After a subsequent law degree in 1878 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he started in Denison (Texas ) to work in this profession. In 1882 he moved his office and his residence to Sherman. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career.

In the congressional elections of 1900, Randell was in the fifth electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Joseph Weldon Bailey on March 4, 1901. After five re- elections, he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1913 six legislative periods. Since 1903 he represented as a successor to Morris Sheppard the fourth district of his state. In 1912, he unsuccessfully sought the nomination of his party for election to the U.S. Senate.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives to Randell retired from politics. In the following years he practiced as a lawyer again. Choice Randell died on October 19, 1945 in Sherman. He was the nephew of Congressman Lucius Jeremiah Gartrell (1821-1891) from Georgia.
