Mike Conaway

Kenneth Michael " Mike" Conaway ( born June 11, 1948 in Borger, Texas) is an American politician. Since 2005 he represents the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Mike Conaway attended to 1966 Odessa Permian High School and then studied until 1970 at the Texas A & M University. Between 1970 and 1972 he served in the United States Army. After that, he was an accountant and bank manager. Between 1981 and 1986 he was responsible for the finances of the company Arbusto Energy. This then led from the later U.S. President George W. Bush, with the until now connects him a friendship. Conaway was a member of the School Committee of the City Midland. Politically, he joined Conaway to the Republican Party. In 2003, he ran unsuccessfully still at a by-election for Congress.

In the congressional elections of 2004, Conaway was but then in the eleventh electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Chet Edwards on January 3, 2005. After the previous three elections, he can exercise his mandate in Congress today. He is a member of the Agriculture Committee, the Armed Services Committee, the Ethics Committee and the Intelligence Committee and in four sub-committees.
