Robert Quincy Lee

Robert Quincy Lee ( * January 12, 1869 in Coldwater, Tate County, Mississippi, † April 18, 1930 in Washington DC ) was an American politician. In the years 1929 and 1930, he represented the state of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Robert Lee attended the common schools and the Fort Worth High School in Texas. In 1891 he moved with his father to Caddo, where he worked in the trade. Since 1913, Lee lived in California, where he worked in agriculture and especially in the field of animal husbandry. He also went into the banking industry. In 1919 he founded the Cisco & Northeastern Railroad Co., which he was president 1919-1927. In the years 1926 and 1927 he also served as president of the Chamber of Commerce of West Texas.

Politically, Lee was a member of the Democratic Party. In the congressional elections of 1928, he was elected in the 17th electoral district of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, where he became the successor of Thomas L. Blanton on March 4, 1929. This mandate he was able to exercise until his death on 18 April 1930. Then, his predecessor Blanton was also chosen as his successor. Robert Lee was buried in Cisco.
