Doug Wickenheiser Memorial Trophy

The Doug Wickenheiser Memorial Trophy is an ice hockey trophy, which is awarded by the Western Hockey League annually to those players in the WHL, who has distinguished themselves through social or community involvement. The award was first awarded in the 1992/93 season. The originally assigned as Humanitarian of the Year Trophy Trophy was established in 2001 by Doug Wickenheiser, a former player of the Regina Pats and overall first in the NHL Entry Draft in 1980, designated, died of cancer in 1999.
