The Football Club Unione Venezia was founded in 1907 under the name Associazione Calcio Venezia 1907.

History

Back in 1909, reached Venice the semifinals of the Italian championship. In the 1924/25 season AC Venice debuted in the top division. In the season 1929/30, the club changed its name to the Serenissima and the club colors in Venetian red. After a short time, but this was reversed.

Beginning of the 1940s the club had its greatest success. In the season 1940/41, he won the Italian Cup ( Coppa Italia ) and was third in Serie A.

In 1987 the club merged with the crew of Mestre and for a short time, the name was changed in Venezia Mestre. After years in the C series of the club in 1990/91 rose under his old name AC Venice back to Serie B, and made ​​it into the 1997/98 season after 30 years in the series A. After the descent in the 2001 / 02 came to the club in trouble and increased in 2004 /05 from the Serie C1.

On 22 June 2005, the association declared bankrupt. The club was re-established under the name Società Sportiva Calcio Venezia, launched first in the Serie C2, but immediately rose again to Serie C1.

In the summer of 2009, the SSC Venice became insolvent, the Football Club Unione Venezia was founded on 27 July 2009, which, however, had to start in the fünftklassigen D series. After 2009/10 and 2010/11, the rise in the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione fourth-rate (formerly Serie C2 ) had each missed only in the Playoff final in the season, the FBC Unione Venice won in season 2011/12 Championship the Girone C series D and secured by a return to the fourth- highest division and lowest professional league. It was also won with a victory over Teramo Calcio Championship Series D. In the 2012/13 season the second ascent succeeded in a row, after the team from Venice defeated in the Promotion Playoffs AC AC Monza Brianza and Renate. 2013/14, the club plays in the third-rate thus Lega Pro Prima Divisione (former Serie C1 ).
