Franklin County (Pennsylvania)

Franklin County is a county located in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 129 313 inhabitants and a population density of 65 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Chambersburg.

History

Franklin County was formed on September 9, 1784 from Cumberland County and named after Benjamin Franklin.

In Greencastle to 1764, the Columbine High School massacre occurred during the Pontiac Rebellion.
