Grabice, Opole Voivodeship

Zedlitz (Polish: Grabice ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Zedlitz located in the municipality Murow in powiat Opolski in Polish Opole Voivodeship.

History

The colony Zedlitz was founded in 1773. 1784 there were 20 houses in the colony, and in 1845 37 houses. 1802 a school was built.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 266 voters voted to remain in Germany and no one for Poland. Zedlitz remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 305 inhabitants in the village. 1939, the place had 267 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration, was renamed Grabice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. 1950 Grabice part of the Opole Voivodeship and 1999 of the re-established powiat Opolski. In March 2009, the City also received the official German place names Zedlitz.
