Geographical Location

Hatzendorf is located about 44 km east of Graz, approximately 10 km north-east of the district capital field creek in East Styrian Hill Country.

The highest elevation

The Schießlkogl with 389m above sea level is the highest mountain in the municipality Hatzendorf.

In Hatzendorf is a stop on the railway Therme Fehring -Friedberg.

The awarded on May 29, 1978 municipal coat of arms is described in the award document as follows: "A four split of black and silver shield, in pale, in mistook color front and rear a key a shortened sword "

Culture and sights

Structures

The on the western edge of Hatzendorf Situated on a hill parish church is dedicated to the two Apostles Peter and Paul. From the 1545 first mentioned Peter's are still the chancel (choir ) and the tower received. The nave was rebuilt in 1679 and extended cross-shaped later by two side arms. During renovations in 1904, the Baroque vault was replaced by a flat ceiling. Between 1972 and 1975 the church was in danger of collapsing extensively renovated.

Public institutions

The volunteer fire department is Hatzendorf for over a hundred years an important part of the community we provide around the clock for the safety of the community citizens.

Education

In addition to kindergarten and elementary school, a land and forestry management school is located with boarding facilities in Hatzendorf.
