Hickman County (Tennessee)

Hickman County is a county located in the state of Tennessee in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Centerville.

Geography

The County lies to the west of the geographic center of Tennessee and has an area of ​​1587 square kilometers without significant water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Dickson County, Williamson County, Maury County, Lewis County, Perry County and Humphreys County.

History

Hickman County was formed on December 3, 1807 from parts of Dickson County. It was named after Edwin Hickman, killed by Indians near the present-day Centerville.
