Jacob Alexander Preston

Jacob Alexander Preston ( born March 12, 1796 in Bel Air, Harford County, Maryland; † August 2, 1868 in Perryman, Maryland ) was an American politician. Between 1843 and 1845 he represented the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jacob Preston attended the common schools and then studied until 1816 at the University of Maryland Medicine. After qualifying as a doctor, he began to practice in this profession in Maryland. In addition, he worked in agriculture. During the British - American War of 1812 Preston was a lieutenant in a regiment from Maryland. Politically, he joined mid-1830s founded the Whig Party to.
