John Devitt

John Devitt ( born February 4, 1937 in Granville ) is a former Australian swimmer.

At the Olympic Games 1956 in Sydney, he won the silver medal behind John Henricks about 100 m freestyle and was with the Australian 4 × 200 m freestyle relay Olympic champion. At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, he won gold in the 100 m freestyle and bronze in the relay. In 1979 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
