Michael Wenden

Michael Vincent "Mike" Wenden ( born November 17, 1949 in Sydney ) is a former Australian swimmer.

He won at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, the gold in the 100 m and 200 m freestyle. He also took another silver in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay, the Australian and bronze in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay. In 1979 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 he was among the eight people who carried the Olympic flag into the stadium.
