John Shadegg

John Barden Shadegg ( born October 22, 1949 in Phoenix, Arizona ) is an American politician ( Republican). Between 1995 and 2003 he sat for the fourth electoral district of the State of Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives. From 2003 to 2011 he represented there the third constituency.

Early years and political rise

John Shadegg attended Camelback High School and then the University of Arizona, at the Law School, he then studied until 1972 to 1975 Jura. After qualifying as a lawyer, he began this career also exercise. From 1969 to 1975 he was a member of the Flying Section of the National Guard of Arizona. Between 1983 and 1990 he worked on the staff of the Attorney General of Arizona. After that, he was an advisor to the Republican faction in the House of Representatives from Arizona.

Congressman

Shadegg moved to the midterm elections of 1994 for the fourth electoral district of Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives. In the following years he was confirmed by more than 60 % each of the vote in this mandate. Since 2003 he represents the third constituency of Arizona as a deputy in Congress. In the years 2004, 2006 and 2008, he was confirmed in each case more than 50 % of the vote in his office. In 2010 he lost his seat to Ben Quayle.

He was a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee and a Committee, which deals with the independence of energy sources and global warming ( Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming ). Shadegg seen as politically conservative. He voted against a firm date for troop withdrawal from Iraq and was against the introduction of minimum wages. He also advocated the establishment of a border fence on the border with Mexico.

John Shadegg is married to Shirley Lueck. The couple has a son and a daughter.
