Julius Sang

Julius Sang ( born September 19, 1948 in Kapsabet, † April 9, 2004 in Eldoret ) was a Kenyan sprinter and Olympic gold medalist.

Sang studied at the North Carolina Central University, where he also started during his student days. He was married with the equally impressive runner Tekla Chemabwai.

At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, he won the bronze medal in the 400 - meter dash, behind the two Americans Vince Matthews, ( gold) and Wayne Collett (Silver) as well as the team gold medal in the 4 x 400 -meter relay team, along with his teammates Charles Asati, Munyoro Nyamau and Robert Ouko, before the relay races from the UK ( silver ) and France ( bronze).
