Krasnousolsky

Krasnoussolski (Russian Красноусольский ) is a village ( selo ) in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) with 11,991 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village is situated in the southwestern part of the Urals, which has heights up to 700 meters here. It is about 100 kilometers ( direct distance) away in the south-east of the Republic capital Ufa, located on the Ussolka, a small right-hand tributary of the Belaya.

Krasnoussolski is the administrative center of the Rajons Gafurijski.

Five kilometers to the northeast is the district of the spa town Krasnoussolsk.

History

The village was founded in 1752 in connection with the establishment of the Bogojawlensker copper smelter ( Bogojawlenski medeplawilny zavod ) (from Russian Bogojawlenije for the Epiphany ). Since the 16th century containing the Ussolka above the present village of sodium chloride and partially hydrogen sulphide and radon thermal springs were known. They were initially used mainly for edible salt production. This is also indicated the name of the river, Ussolka of Russian sol for salt, back.

1762 was the first time in his Orenburg topography pointed out by the St. Petersburg Academy member and explorer Pyotr Rytschkow on the healing potential of the mineral water in 1802 by the physician and naturalist Ivan Lepjochin.

A health resort was only after the October Revolution, after it was decided in 1922 to erect a sanatorium " for workers", and has since been expanded continuously. 1923 was the place instead of the original name of religious origin today after the river with the intention of krasno, the Russian word for red in its ideological significance, and a few years later, the status of an urban-type settlement.

On August 20, 1930 Krasnoussolski administrative center of the homonymous Rajons newly founded, which was renamed in 1940 after the Bashkir - Tatar literary Maschit Gafuri in Gafurijski.

The copper smelter was in 1893 converted into a glass factory. After the start of the war against the Soviet Union in 1941, the equipment of glass work from the Belarusian Gomel was evacuated to Krasnoussolski.

As part of the reform of local self-government of the place lost 2004 of the status of an urban-type settlement and has since been re- Rural Settlement.

Nearest railway station is Belo-Ozero about 20 kilometers north-west along the route Ufa - Orenburg Sterlitamak. You continue in this direction at Tolbasy well as in the nearly 50 km south-west to city Sterlitamak is connected to the regional road R314, which also connects Ufa and Orenburg.
