Loddin

Loddin seaside resort is a municipality on the island of Usedom, on the Baltic Sea and the backwaters, a large bulge of the Peenestrom. The community is managed by the Office of Usedom -Süd, located in the town of Usedom. By 2005, the community was part of the Office of Usedom Center.

Geography

Loddin is located on the isthmus between North and Südusedom, amidst a scenic region between the Baltic Sea, Kölpinsee and backwaters. The neighboring municipalities are Ueckeritz in the northwest and Koserow in the southeast. About 13 kilometers southeast of the community lies the seaside resort of Heringsdorf and eight kilometers northwest Zinnowitz.

History

Community

After the administrative reform in 1815 Loddin came to the Prussian province of Pomerania and belonged from 1818 to 1945 the district of Pomerania. From 1945 to 1952 formed the congregation, with which, after the Second World War, remaining in Germany part of the district of Pomerania, the county Usedom in Mecklenburg. This went on in a circle Wolgast in the district of Rostock in 1952. The municipality belongs since 1990 to the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern, 1994 to September 3, 2011, she was part of the Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, which then rose in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald.

In the 1920s/30s the small seaside resort was a meeting of the UFA film stars as Willy Fritsch, Lilian Harvey, Grethe Weiser, Anny Ondra and Hans Sohnker opened in 1897, still existing hotel water lily.

Districts

Loddin was first mentioned in 1270 as Loddino. The name derives from the Slavic name for salmon and means something like village on the Salmon Bay.

In a document dated 15 March this year replaced the Bishop of Pomerania, which owns Loddin was, at the request of Duke Barnim I of Pomerania -Stettin this village along with five other municipalities on Usedom ( Ueckeritz, Balm at Balmer Mellenthin, Suckow and Krienke ) against Damerow in Pomerania ( in Pomerania ), which had belonged to the Premonstratensian monastery of coarse material at the town of Usedom. 1309 moved to this after Pudagla. On June 1, 1911 Loddin received the touristy important railway connection with breakpoints in Kölpinsee and Stubbenfelde.

The coat of arms was approved on 17 December 1998 by the Home Office and registered under No. 177 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Transport links

The districts Kölpinsee and Stubbenfelde are right on the main road 111 through the village leads to the bicycle path Berlin- Usedom.

The breakpoints Kölpinsee and Stubbenfelde lie on the railway line Ducherow - Heringsdorf - Wolgast ferry, which is traversed by the UBB web. In the summer months the Usedom- Express railway service runs to and from Potsdam Hbf about these breakpoints. Furthermore Kölpinsee and Stubbenfelde May to October on Fridays with the IC 1861 and on Saturdays with the IC 1804/1805 and from Cologne a breakpoint with long-distance transport.

The nearest regional airport is located south of Heringsdorf and is 26 kilometers from Loddin. Ships of the Eagle line lay six kilometers to the lake bridge of Koserow and drive to schedule several times a day to the " imperial baths ' Heringsdorf, Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck as well as Świnoujście.
