Malženice

Malženice ( Malschenitz German, Hungarian Màniga ) is a municipality in western Slovakia, with 1379 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Trnava Region of a lower part of the Trnavský.

Geography

Malženice located in the Danube hills, part of the Slovak Danube lowlands by the stream Blava, 10 miles from Trnava and 12 kilometers Hlohovecký away.

History

The village was mentioned in writing in the Zoborská documents for the first time in 1113. At the beginning of the 13th century it belonged to the Order of St. John, then to various landowners. 1756 the site was for some time the town.

Attractions

  • Roman Catholic Church, originally built in the 13th century in Romanesque style in the 17th century, rebuilt in the Renaissance style in a three-nave church

Economy

The system operated by E.ON power plants and gas -steam combined cycle power plant is located outside the town.
