Matt Salmon

Matthew James Salmon ( born January 21, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah) is an American politician. Between 1995 and 2001 he represented the first electoral district of the state of Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years

Matt Salmon attended until 1976, the Mesa High School in Arizona. Then he studied until 1981 at Arizona State University and then to 1986 at Brigham Young University in Provo. After completing his studies, Salmon went into the telecommunications industry.

Political career

Salmon was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1991 and 1995 he was a member of the Senate of Arizona. There he was, since 1993 deputy head of the Republican faction. In the congressional elections of 1994, he was elected as a candidate of his party in the U.S. House of Representatives.
