Nižná, Tvrdošín District

Nižná (Hungarian Nizsna, Polish Niżna ) is a municipality in the north of Slovakia.

Location

It lies in the valley of the Orava Orava at the foot of Magura, 5 km from Tvrdošín and 25 km from Dolny Kubin.

To the municipality next to the main town also includes the settlement Zemianska Dedina (1985 amalgamated ).

History

The village was first mentioned in 1420 as Nissne Wes.
