Geography

History

Upper Hamlet was first documented in 1290. The place belonged to the administrative complex Eßweiler valley. By 1300, the Sprengel castle was built in the south on a spur of the mountain king. Lords were the Knights of Mülenstein, vassals of the game count.

The Knights of Mülenstein included the courtyard Neideck, which was first mentioned in 1400 as a yard to Nydeckin.
