Konken
Konken is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kusel.
History
Konken was first documented in 1124.

The local council in Konken consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms
The blazon of the arms is: "On an elevated, silver Schildfluß, in a blue mussel, from the blazing a red flame, in a black rotbewehrter, bezungter - and - crowned, golden lion ".
Economy and infrastructure
In Konken there is a kindergarten, a primary school and a multipurpose hall. The place with its convenient commercial area one of the few major industrial sites in the county ( about 280 jobs in industry, crafts and trade ).
Through the village runs the B 420 in the north, the A is 62 ( with junction " Kusel " at the northern end of the village ). In Kusel is a station on the railway line Landstuhl - Kusel. A biogas -powered district heating network is under construction.
