Olympus E-300

The E-300 Olympus is a digital SLR camera with a resolution of 8.0 million pixels, which came on the market in December 2004.

General

The dimensions of the camera be 146.5 mm × 85 mm × 64 mm with a weight of approximately 580 g without batteries and CF card.

A special feature on this camera is the side wegklappende mirror since Olympus renounced the classical penta prism in favor of a Porro mirror viewfinder and so was able to design a particularly flat camera body.

The E-300 was for the E- 1, the second camera from Olympus, which were made according to the Four Thirds (4/3 ) standard. The E-System is the summary of all digital SLR cameras from Olympus and their accessories.

Technical details

The light sensitivity can be set from 100 to 1600 ISO, the shortest trip is 1/4000th second. The images can be stored with a color depth of 36 bit, 24 bit color depth with JPEG and TIFF to RAW formats. The camera allows the internal conversion from raw to jpeg files.

The available of fast and compact Olympus Zuiko lenses for the E-300 have so far not equipped with image stabilization system. Since October 2006, Leica provides such a lens.

For modern SLR -type features such as Bulb ( Long Exposure ), Auto Focus, Program AE and manual exposure control are included in the functional. Mirror lock-up was made possible by a firmware update in March 2005. The E-300 has three auto focus points that are manually and automatically controlled. The E-300 has the option to adjust the autofocus so that it automatically follows moving subjects, such as for the wildlife or sports photography.

Another handy features is the automatic sensor cleaning the E -300. Other companies like Canon have adopted this technology in their latest models. Spots on the photo and a costly clean the sensor eliminated in this way.
