Olympus E-500

The Olympus E-500 is the third camera that was manufactured in developed by Olympus and Kodak Four Thirds standard. Its market launch in November 2005. This digital SLR camera has an 8 megapixel sensor and is considered a model for beginners with high expectations. Since it is compatible to the developed by Olympus E-System, the camera is a wide range of Zuiko lenses. The E-500 has a 2.5 -inch high- resolution monitor ( 215,250 pixels) and an ultrasonic dust filter ( Supersonic Wave Filter ), the tiny dust particles are removed by ultrasound from the image sensor.

In JPG format Continuous shooting is possible until the memory card is full. In the RAW and TIFF formats up to 2.5 frames / sec and up to 4 images are obtained in a row.

Compared to the previous E -300, a second memory card slot has been added. During the first slot type memory cards CF I, CF II and IBM Microdrive support, the second slot can hold the xD -Picture cards developed by Olympus and Fuji. About both slots data can be exchanged. The E-500 weighs 435 g

In June 2007, appeared as a successor to the Olympus E- 510.
