Oulx

Oulx ( Occitan Ols or Ors, Piedmontese Ols, Italian Ulzio ) is a municipality with 3220 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Turin (TO ), Region Piedmont. It is located in the Upper Susa Valley and is a member and the seat of the municipality Mountain Alta Valle di Susa.

Geography

The municipality covers an area of 99 km ². Districts ( frazioni ) the municipality Oulx are Amazas, Beaulard, Vazon, Soubras, Pierremenaud, San Marco, Gad, Monfol, Beaume, Auberges, Signol, Savoulx, Clots, Constans, Puy, Chateau- Beaulard, Royeres and Villard.

The neighboring municipalities are Bardonecchia, Cesana Torinese, Exilles, Nevache, Pragelato, Salbertrand, Sauze d'Oulx and Sestriere.

Place name

During the Italian fascism of the place name was Italianised from Oulx was Ulzio. 1945, this change was officially reversed. The Italian name Ulzio is still commonly used.

Oulx In 1985, a partnership with the French town of Saint -Donat- sur -l'Herbasse in the Drome closed.
