Petitmagny

Petit Magny ( formerly Kleinmenglatt German ) is a town in the French department of Territoire de Belfort in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Petit Magny is located on 481 m above sea level, about ten kilometers north- northeast of the town of Belfort ( a straight line ). The village is located in a hilly area in the southern foothills of the Vosges, in the hollow of the right side of Bach's Madeleine, at the southern foot of the Fayé.

The area of ​​2.20 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the area of ​​the Vosges foothills. The area is drained by the village brook east to Madeleine. It is used for agriculture and partly by arable and meadow land, sometimes there are larger areas of forest. To the north, the municipality's area extends up the predominantly forested slopes of Fayé. On its southern flank of the highest elevation of Petit Magny is achieved with 880 m.

Neighboring communities of Petit Magny are Étueffont the east and south, and Grosmagny in the West.

History

With 279 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Petit Magny one of the small communities of the department of Territoire de Belfort.
