Rich Nugent

Richard " Rich" Nugent ( born May 26, 1951 in Evergreen Park, Illinois) is an American politician. Since 2011 he represents the state of Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Rich Nugent was born in Evergreen Park, a suburb of Chicago. After his high school graduation he served 1969-1975 in the Air Corps of the National Guard of Illinois. Since 1984 he worked for the police in Hernando County, Florida. First, where he rose to become deputy chief of police. Between 2001 and 2010, he was then as Sheriff Chief of Police in this district.

Politically, Nugent joined the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 2010 he was in the fifth electoral district of Florida with 67 percent of the vote in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of not more candidates for health reasons Ginny Brown -Waite on January 3, 2011. In Congress, he advocated the extension of the expiring portions of the PATRIOT Act; He is also against any reduction of funds to support the State of Israel. Rich Nugent has been married since 1975. With his wife, Wendy, he has three sons, all of which serve as officers in the U.S. Army.
